BIOGRAPHY

Adrian is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Clinician.  He performs exclusively on Yamaha Trumpets and Equipment

 

International orchestral musician and trumpet soloist Adrian D. Griffin is enjoying a vivid and busy career.  Prior to his appointment of principal trumpet with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Monterrey, Adrian has held positions as principal trumpet with the Filarmonica de Jalisco, co-principal trumpet with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Monterrey, Ballet de Monterrey and Opera Metropolitana de Monterrey, fourth/utility trumpet with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra as well as trumpet professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

 

Currently, Adrian is principal trumpet with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Monterrey located in Monterrey, Mexico.  He also appeared in the 2011 Pan American Games in the Inaugural Ceremonies.

 

As a clinician, Adrian has appeared at such events as The Texas Band Masters Convention, The Texas Music Educators Association, The Iowa Music Educators Association, The New Jersey Music Educators Association, and presented master-classes and clinics throughout Mexico.

 

Adrian has published more than a dozen articles with the Instrumentalist Magazine and is an ongoing contributor.  In 2012, Adrian finished his greatest literary accomplishment; a book entitled Buzz to Brilliance, published by Oxford University Press.

 

Adrian was the first person in North America to be signed by Mr. Denis Wick as a Performing Artist for Denis Wick Mutes

 

Adrian is a Performing Artist/Clinician for Yamaha, and exclusively plays Yamaha Trumpets.
